Enjoy a Family Movie Night which includes hot dogs, popcorn, sweets and drinks
The 2025 animated film The King of Kings is a retelling of Jesus Christ's life, directly inspired by "The Life of Our Lord," a book Charles Dickens wrote for his children.
The film centres on Dickens (voiced by Kenneth Branagh) narrating the story to his young son, Walter, with the narrative bringing the Gospel to life through animation.
The King of Kings a family-friendly, featuring a star-studded voice cast including Oscar Isaac (Jesus), Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, and Mark Hamill.

HOLIDAY CLUB
FOR P1-P7 CHILDREN
Our one day summer holiday club at Mearns Free Church is aimed at children in P1 to P7 (2026/27 school year)
Come along for games, challenges, crafts, singing and amazing Bible stories.
Lunch is included.

Free tea, coffee and home baking
The Mearns Free
Cafe Connect usually runs each Tuesday afternoon through the year at Newton Mearns Baptist Church - it's for the older generation to enjoy time together with tea, coffee and treats.
We are running a Saturday Summer special where everyone is welcome at Belmont.
SATURDAY 8th August
6.30pm - 8.30pm
Come along for dancing, games, quiz and lots of fun for the whole family.
Children attending must be accompanied by an adult.
Food will be served including chip butties and Scottish treats.
Sunday 9th August
10.30am - 11.45am
Join us at Church
Mearns Free meets each Sunday at 10.30am at Belmont -
We are local people of all ages and stages.
It's an informal service, no dress code.
There will be some songs led by our band (take part as you feel comfortable) and a talk with the children. We read the Bible and then our minister will give a short talk for the adults, based on what we have read.
You will be made welcome.
CAN YOU STAY FOR LUNCH? - we are having a lunch after the service - hope you can join us.
